Consumer Guarantees Act:
The Consumer Guarantees Act sets out certain guarantees goods have to meet. It specifies minimum rights and remedies available to you if goods fail to meet one or more of these guarantees. Bathroom Clearance limited, its' warranties, and its' Terms of Sale will comply with all requirements of the Consumer Guarantees Act.
Warranty
Bathroom Clearance limited Limited (“the company” / “we” ) offers a standard 12 month warranty on most items excluding circumstances and items noted below (Warranty Limitations). We will repair, replace, refund the item depending on how serious the fault is. The warranty covers damage to the article and may not cover consequential losses or costs.
- Bathroom Clearance Limited offers an easy-return policy with money back (detailed below).
- Spare/replacement parts are often replaced free or very low cost if you’ve damaged/misplaced them and even if warranty time period has expired. When things go wrong, we’ll do our best to right them no matter who is at fault.
- When installation of replacement parts is less than a major task or does not require professionals, we may ask for you to install these.
Limitations
General. The warranty does not cover:
- Normal wear and tear
- Misuse of a product and/or use for which it was not designed
- Neglect, deliberate damage, failure to care for or maintain the product in an acceptable manner
- Unauthorised repairs or modifications
- Minor imperfections not affecting performance or decorative value
- Damage caused after removal, reinstallation that may have been caused by such
Personal Household use only. The warranty is for personal or household use. It excludes commercial/industrial, rental property and rental use.
Limited fees / costs my still apply.
- A $150 refundable call out fee will be charged prior to any site visit for a warranty. Once it is deemed a legitimate claim the $150 will be refunded immediately
- In the event of a call out that ends up to not be a warranty claim, (for example incorrect installation, neglect etc) Bathroom clearance will retain the $150 to cover the cost of the call out.
- A travel surcharge and callout fees will apply which will be waived in a return-to-base situation.
- Items to be inspected must be in a suitable (thoroughly clean) condition otherwise costs of cleaning and preparation may apply
Installation workmanship and materials. Installations and workmanship not carried out by Bathroom Clearance limited Limited are excluded by the provisions of this warranty. Please ensure you obtain a comprehensive written warranty from your tradesman for all materials and workmanship completed and keep a copy of quotes, invoices, warranties and all correspondence.
Consequential loss, installation and costs are generally not covered by warranty. Bathroom Clearance limited will not meet the costs of tradesmen, services, penalties or any other losses/costs whatsoever caused by any event/failure including time-to-time lateness, errors and damaged parts.
Unauthorised Repairs / Repairers. Repairs and repairers must be authorised by Bathroom Clearance limited Limited otherwise their repair costs may not be covered in full by warranty. Amount covered will be assessed by Bathroom Clearance limited.
Professional Installation. All goods must be installed, serviced and/or operated by a qualified experienced tradesperson.
- Installations must comply with industry standards and normal practices including pre-installation inspection and checking and post-installation testing of all functions for failure. Failure to comprehensively inspect for defects/flaws before installation (and on immediate arrival) can in some circumstances limit your claim under the company warranty. This is due to the company not having control/care or custody of the product.
- Sanitary, Plumbing and Drainage items must be installed by a registered industry professional.
Not Transferable. Warranties are not transferable beyond the original purchaser.
Returns
Bathroom Clearance Limited offers a returns (change of mind) policy. We want you to be happy with your selection and its suitability! We offer a “no questions” 14 day right of return and is subject to a 10% restocking fee offered on all goods purchased. Goods must be unused and perfectly new.
Freight will be at the cost of the purchaser for items returned, but contact us as we will do what we can to reduce this cost to our valued customers.
Naturally goods will have to be returned in almost-original packaging / condition.

Deliveries
Deliveries take between 2 and 5 days from receipt of money, deliveries require a person present to unpack and inspect delivery and sign for correct goods received in good condition and free from breakages/damage. It is advisable that they immediately open packages and inspect for signs of damage or defect and the correct goods ordered have been supplied.
Signing for goods or accepting goods without a person present may be either:
- a waiver of your rights to claim for transport damage; or
- a reduction of your rights to claim for faults/damage in manufacturing etc.
Do not sign “undamaged” unless you are completely satisfied with the condition of the contents in terms of breakages and damage or defect.
Installation without pre-inspection for visible faults and for correct items/parts supply. Failure to comprehensively inspect for defects/flaws/correct items/in-full before installation (and on immediate arrival) can in some circumstances limit your claim under the company warranty. This is due to the company not having control/care or custody of the product after that time.
Deliveries and pick ups:
Standard Delivery Service:
Delivery to Driveway for City Residential Areas Only (Excludes difficult driveways and unfinished sites.) South Island City Residential includes Christchurch, Nelson, Dunedin Cities only.
Delivery to Nearest City Depot for all other deliveries including Rural, Towns and City Rural Areas (Requires you to pick up from our carriers nearest city depot.)
Normally 2-5 working day delivery service after payment is received. Driver on site for up to 10 minutes to drop off.
Please note that deliveries to some rural areas are subject to rural distance and fuel surcharges. This is done at $2.5 per km surcharge if outside their nornall delivery zone. Although our system tries to present accurate delivery charges, Bathroom Clearance reserves the right to charge for additional delivery costs after the order has been placed. Please note that you may be contacted by our customer services in the case when the actual cost to deliver to your address is higher than the estimated checkout delivery charge.
Deliveries of items weighing over 30Kg require you to have 1 suitable unloading person on site able to carry 30Kg in addition to the driver.
Goods Delivery and Pick-up claims:

Deliveries exclude special delivery services – e.g. quick, after hours, unpacking & assembly, box / pallet removal, installation, placement within home, and time greater than 10 minutes on site.
